This paper analyses the notions of “religious language” and “religious style” and attempts to designate their interaction in Slavic teolinguistics. The criteria of description for the religious language and religious style are proposed. The work contains three main parts. In the first part, entitled “Religious style,” the author, based on papers published sińce the 1990s, analyses the reasoning of Polish, Russian and Ukrainian linguists conceming religious style. Religioznyj stil’ v slavânckoj teolingvistike

At the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, the main threads of research in Slavic theolinguistics were emerged, one of which was the study of religious style. Linguists in Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine pay special attention to this issue. This article provides a brief overview of the given problem. These studies have both common points and differences. This is explained not only by the various confessions associated with specific languages, but also by the linguistic traditions that have developed in each of these countries.
